what do you recommend for 1955 Chevy wagon with a 396 and aftermarket power steering? thanks
Sounds like a cool ride. I have a 56 Bel Air myself. Depending on what motor mounts you are using and which power steering box you used (like 605) you will find some problems. If you are using front mounts there won't be an issue except for power steering clearance. As far as part #s we have 68250, 68256(HTC coated), and the race version from our Husler line 65250 which have under chassis exit and require column shift modification or shifter moved to the floor. I'd recommend HTC coated, no matter what hedder you go with. Since it is a tight fit, the coating will reduce engine compartment heat plus they look awesome and won't discolor. Email your mounts and power steering components to timb@hedman.com, we will find out if our models will work with your set up.
